On Cape Verde, the number of Coronavirus infections has been rising again since the beginning of the year. The German Foreign Office continues to classify Cape Verde as a risk area and warns against unnecessary tourist travel.
Cape Verde is also not spared from a renewed increase in the number of people infected with the Coronavirus. This also raises concerns about when the eagerly awaited tourists will start travelling to the country again. After all, countless livelihoods depend on tourism.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, all international flights to and from Cape Verde have been suspended to prevent the spread of the virus. At the same time, tourism has also come to a standstill. The first infection was registered on the island of Boa Vista. For this reason, all traffic routes to the rest of the country were closed until recently.
