For this reason, head of state Filipe Nyusi extended on Sunday, June 28, 2020, the state of emergency for another 30 days - and for the third time in a row. It is valid now until 29. July 2020. In this way, the Mozambican president wants to avoid a new peak of the pandemic in his country in order to reduce the pressure on hospitals.
