We have the recipe for the popular cocktail shooter from South Africa for you, just in time for Liqueur Day.

About the Springbokkie Shooter

The Springbokkie Shooter was named after South Africa's national animal, the springbok (also in Afrikaans). The green-gold colour also has a special meaning: It is derived from the jersey colours of the South African national rugby team, the Springboks.
Like its namesake, the Springbokkie Shooter is quick; in this case, quickly mixed. It is particularly popular in South Africa and easy to prepare, as it consists of only two ingredients.

Ingredients

20 ml Crème de Menthe (Peppermint liqueur)
 20 ml Amarula

Preparation

1

Pour the crème de menthe (peppermint liqueur) into a shot glass.

2

Slowly pour the Amarula into the glass over the back of a teaspoon. This prevents the two liqueurs from mixing and creates the characteristic look of the Springbokkie Shooter with two layers.
