The Friedrich Hospitality Foundation supports education where young people cannot afford it themselves,focusing on the hospitality industry as it offers valuable and sustainable job opportunities all over the world, thus providing opportunities to overcome the unemployment and lack of prospects that many young people face.

What happens after school graduation? For many young people, the choices are limited. The professional growth is highly dependent on the social and financial situation. As a result, there are still large starting differences up to today.

We are committed to equal opportunities for school learners, trainees, students and young professionals. Our goal is to give them future career perspectives at home and abroad through language studies and solid training in the hospitality industry. It is intended to be a self-help tool. Of course, we accompany our scholarship holders on their way and do our best to integrate them successfully. To achieve this, we arrange helpful mentors and sponsorships that provide additional support, and we specifically approach alumni networks from the hotel industry to share existing knowledge and exchange experiences. Through this development we strengthen not only the academic, but also the personal development of individuals.

We lay great emphasis on the quality and topicality of the teaching offered. We therefore support educational institutions and initiatives with teaching materials. But here, too, our commitment extends beyond pure financial injections. Donations in kind, such as school materials and books, or guest lectures and workshops by international corporate partners are also part of the support. In addition, we provide regular training for the teaching staff in order to offer the best possible education.

To order to realize this, we maintain an intensive dialog with politicians, entrepreneurs and teachers. In this way, synergies can be created and grievances in the education system can be identified and eliminated by helping people to help themselves.

In order to actively shape the future, it is essential to discover and investigate open questions. This is why we not only focus on education, but also on research. This enables early recognition of the industry developments, trends and innovations. We encourage interdisciplinary thinking to create the greatest possible synergy effects.

In addition to theory-based research, we place particular emphasis on placing the results in a social context and processing them in a practice-oriented manner. In this way, we can also pass the knowledge to other funding areas.

It is also important to publish the findings in scientific papers, to present them at specialist conferences, and to maintain a lively exchange with other research groups.

Attending a vocational school is not self-evident for many young people. Especially in developing countries, schools often fail because they are overcrowded or too far away and therefore inaccessible. A good vocational training is the foundation for a better life.

By building hotel management schools, we want to lay the foundations for a long-term teaching program. As the number of schools increases, so do the chances of finding a place in education. The support of such construction projects goes beyond mere financial aid. Experts in the respective fields and construction phases are on hand to provide advice and support throughout the project.

An educational and research grant from the Friedrich Hospitality Foundation may follow this construction. Therefore, even after commissioning, the quality of the teaching provided and the appropriate use of resources are regularly reviewed.
